About the Candidate
Jason is a husband of a teacher in the District and a father of a Vintage freshman and a recent Vintage graduate.
Jason is a public servant. He previously served on the NVUSD Board from December 2020 to May 2022. He served the District during difficult times, during the height of the COVID pandemic and in the midst of fiscal uncertainty.
Jason is an attorney of 18 years, serving as a public agency attorney for 10. He has expertise in government law, advising boards, commissions, and agency departments.
Launched Unidos Middle School and began K-8 programs
Adopted Rainbow Kits in classrooms to help all children feel welcome
Obtained Masters in Governance from California School Boards Association
Stabilized NVUSD budget while still providing raises to NVUSD staff
Worked with Welcoming and Inclusive Schools Steering Committee to help develop NVUSD’s Strategic Vision

Priorities
Efficiently Manage Resources - The budget represents the priorities of the NVUSD Governance Team. Our budget must meet educational needs without jeopardizing the financial future of the District.
Close Achievement Gaps - Achievement metrics cannot measure all forms of student success. Their value is in highlighting inequities that need to be addressed at a policy level.
Bolster Special Education - NVUSD’s Special Education program serves a growing population in Napa Valley. The cornerstone of a welcoming and equitable school district must be ensuring that all students, including those with Special Education services, are centered in every decision the District makes.
